A piano on Florida’s east coast lives in two worlds. Outside, salt air, summer rain and humidity shape the landscape. Inside, air conditioning creates a cooler, drier room. A practical tuning rhythm

For a piano played at home, begin with a six-to-twelve-month schedule. A teacher’s piano, church piano, school instrument or performance piano may need service more often. A piano that has not been tuned for several years may need pitch correction before a fine tuning can settle.
